What the ????

Check out this map of Asgard, which I believe is from Journey Into Mystery Annual 1 (I got it from Marvel Masterworks vol.30). Jack Kirby has produced a breath-taking two-page panoramic spread of majestic Asgard.(Sorry for the gap between pages)

Looks like you'd imagine the home of the gods, right? Magnificent buildings, fantastic statues, the funky giant tree. But what's that in the bottom right hand corner? Here, I'll blow it up for you...

That's right, it's the Mall of the Gods! Because the All-Father might want a new pillow when he takes another Odin-Sleep!

I'll bet there's even five Asgardian Starbucks cafe's in there!

Hmmm, I wonder if there's an Asgardian equivalent of Wal-Mart?

I wouldn't want to be the chef in Volstagg's restaurant ^^

Great blog, guys and gals! ;)
Only advice I can give is to look after the resolution of the pics in the posts, most of them are a bit off until one clicks on them, which is probably due to a discrepancy between the actual height+width and the one in the html code.
Not that it affects the blog in any way ^^

Sorry, forgot to say it's Shiryu ^^

Thanks for the kind words and the technical tips, Shiryu!

They are well deserved ;)

Sorry for not coming earlier, I didn't see the blog's link until today (and, for a split second, I thought Doug had gone into porn given the first half of the blog's title ^^')

BTW, this Asgard's map is nice, but looking better at it, it's a bit too... don't know, futuristic? Asgard has had so many looks over the years it's difficult to say which is best, but I like the more "dark ages" ones, like that seen a few years ago in the Ragnarok storyline or in Jurgens' arc.

Yeah, maybe the browser I'm using (FireFox) stinks or something, because on Internet Explorer I could see the second half of the Asgardian map just fine, but on Firefox I only see half of the second half of the map!

I echo Shiryu in that this is a wonderful blog!

I agree with Shiryu, it looks more like a map for The Jetsons!

"His boy, Loki!"

As to the resolution, I can tell you that some of the scans I used in the Kirby hats piece were pretty bad. However, on both of the computers I regularly use the comic covers are clear. But we'll keep an eye on it and try to make sure everything looks as good as we can make it (and I guarantee none of us are as tech-savvy as you, Shiryu!) :)

@ Dr.Pym: it sounds more like a chace problem than a browser one. I'd expect it to work fine after reloading or after empying the chace, there could just be too many temporary files ;)

@ Dlw: It kind of takes a trained eye to see it. It took me over a year of working on my website before I could see it clearly, it's a small "shaking" of the outside lines in the image. It happens when the code makes the picture look smaller than it actually is. It's easy to correct, but I highlighted it more for the sake of knowledge than because it needs correcting. It's such a small thing that it's not worth editing the old posts for it.
